Friction stir welding (FSW), as a solid phase welding technology, is widely used in the manufacture of large-size aluminum alloy panels for use in marine and offshore applications.
For FSW panels used in marine applications, aluminum alloys such as 5083, 5086, 6061, and 6082, which have excellent seawater and corrosion resistance, are recommended.
