HAOMEI Aluminum marine grade aluminum plates / sheets are made from high-purity aluminum ingots with alloying elements such as magnesium and manganese. They are processed through precision smelting, hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing, and finishing. Their core advantages come from scientifically controlled alloy composition and strict manufacturing processes. Compared with traditional steel materials, they offer irreplaceable performance advantages.
Irreplaceable Advantages of Marine Grade Aluminum Plate Sheet
Excellent corrosion resistance:
Marine aluminum alloys have strong resistance to seawater corrosion, significantly extending the service life of ships and offshore structures.Lightweight structure:
Aluminum weighs about one-third of steel, greatly reducing vessel weight, lowering fuel consumption, increasing speed, and improving payload capacity.Excellent weldability:
Marine aluminum alloys offer superior welding performance, which is critical for shipbuilding and large marine structures.Good machinability:
They support stamping, bending, shearing, and stretching processes with excellent cold and hot workability.Long service life:
Compared with steel ships, aluminum vessels require lower maintenance because they do not rust in marine environments.Environmentally friendly:
Aluminum is 100% recyclable, making it a sustainable material for modern shipbuilding.

Marine Grade Aluminum Alloy Series
HAOMEI Aluminum offers a full range of 5000-series marine aluminum alloys and 6000-series marine aluminum alloys, certified by international classification societies such as DNV, ABS, LR, and BV.
1. 5083 Marine Aluminum Plate
A magnesium alloy (Mg 4.0%–4.9%), known as the "gold standard" for marine applications. It offers excellent seawater corrosion resistance, medium strength, and outstanding weld crack resistance.
Tensile strength: 275–310 MPa
Elongation: ≥12%
Applications: hull structures, decks, bulkheads, engine mounts, ship sides. Widely used in cargo ships, fishing boats, yachts, and high-speed vessels.
2. 5086 Marine Aluminum Plate
Magnesium alloy (Mg 4.3%–4.9%) with better corrosion resistance than 5083, good toughness, and excellent stress corrosion resistance.
Applications: fuel systems, seawater tanks, pressure vessels, high-stress marine structural parts, offshore platforms.
3. 5454 / 5456 Marine Aluminum Plate
5454: excellent corrosion resistance, ideal for seawater tanks and marine pipelines
5456: higher strength than 5083/5086, tensile strength above 305 MPa
Applications: heavy-duty marine structures, offshore platforms, military vessels, high-load components.
4. 5052 Marine Aluminum Plate
Medium-strength magnesium alloy with good corrosion resistance, weldability, and formability, and relatively low cost.
Applications: small boats, yachts, fishing boats, interior panels, windows, ladders, and marine accessories.
5. 6061 Marine Aluminum Plate
A magnesium-silicon alloy that can be heat-treated for strengthening, offering good mechanical properties and machinability.
It typically has pre-tempered grades, such as 6061-O (annealed), and tempered grades, such as 6061-T6 (solution treatment and artificial aging) and 6061-T651 (solution treatment, stress-relieving tensile treatment and artificial aging).
Applications: superstructures, frames, instrument supports, precision marine components.

HAOMEI Aluminum products (5083, 5086, 5754, 5454, 6061, etc.) are certified by multiple classification societies including LR, ABS, DNV, NK, and CCS.
Marine Aluminum Plate Price 2026
The price of marine-grade aluminum sheet typically consists of "base price of aluminum ingot + processing fee + ocean freight". Processing fees vary depending on the alloy grade, temper, dimensional tolerance requirements, and certification requirements. Generally, processing fees are lower for standard 5-series marine-grade sheet, higher for special tempers such as H116/H321, and additional fees apply to products requiring classification society inspection.
